On May 12, 2026, the Anchorage Assembly officially recognized May as Building Safety Month through Resolution AR 2026-119.
The proclamation recognizes the important work performed by building safety and fire prevention professionals who help keep Anchorage safe through inspections, plan review, code enforcement, fire prevention, and safe construction practices.
The proclamation also highlights the importance of resilient buildings and modern building codes in protecting lives and property during earthquakes, severe weather, and other emergencies common in Alaska.
The ICC Alaska Central Chapter appreciates the Anchorage Assembly for recognizing Building Safety Month and supporting the professionals working behind the scenes every day to help protect our community.
